Place Manager – Urban Renewal & Economic Development
Location: Logan Central
Rate: $61-65ph + super | 12-month contract (with strong view to extend)
Work type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
About the Opportunity Join one of South-East Queensland’s most dynamic growth regions and play a key role in shaping the future of Logan.
As a Place Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of innovative place-making, urban renewal, and city-shaping projects that enhance liveability, attract investment, and support thriving local communities.
You’ll partner with internal teams, business owners, developers, and community stakeholders to bring key activity centres to life — turning strategic plans into tangible outcomes that make a visible difference across Logan’s precincts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate place-based projects and initiatives, from concept through delivery.
- Develop and implement activity centre strategies and urban design improvements that align with Council’s growth and investment goals.
- Manage funding submissions, budgets, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Provide expert advice on urban design and place activation to support planning and capital works programs.
- Build strong relationships with businesses, community groups, and government partners to drive investment and engagement.
- Promote best-practice design, sustainability, and innovation across all projects.
About You You’re a creative and delivery-focused professional who thrives on bringing ideas to life through collaboration, design excellence, and strong stakeholder engagement.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture.
- Proven experience in place-making, urban renewal, or major project delivery.
- Government experience is very desirable
- Strong project management and communication skills — able to translate technical design into community outcomes.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work across multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for creating vibrant, connected places.
- Must have full working rights
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence (essential).
