Albany Hills OSHC is a large established Parents and Citizens not-for-profit managed service. The service is an integral part of the school community and is looking for a permanent full-time Assistant Coordinator working 38 hours per week across Monday to Friday.
Albany Hills OSHC is receiving the government funding through the ECEC Worker Retention Grant that increases your take home pay. We operate under the P&C Association State Award-OSHC Stream. We provide uniforms, paid first aid certificates and child protection training to our educators. We offer opportunities and support our educators interested in professional and personal development.
The successful candidate will work closely with our well established management team, educators and P&C executive to provide a fun, flexible, educational and professional service for all children and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will:
Have a passion for working in the OSHC sector
Have a solid knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place and the Education and Care National Regulations and Act
Sound computer and IT skills - including an understanding of varying computer operating systems
Skills to complete administrative and operational tasks to a high and proficient standard with exceptional organisational skills
Have strong skills in guiding a team and supporting children with their behavioural needs
Possess the ability to handle and respond to unforeseen accidents, incidents and emergencies
Ability to remain professional at all times and have the ability to resolve resolution of any conflict that may arise
High standard verbal and written communication skills and can provide parents with effective feedback and discuss children’s development
Ability to positively build effective working relationships with stakeholders
Self-motivated, committed and enthusiastic and ready to support to the Coordinator in the overall running and management of the service and the ability to step into the Coordinators role as required
Ability to assist in the day to day operations of the service including administrative tasks and attendance record management including financial management such as budgeting, fee collection and banking
Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment
Be able to effectively support and supervise staff and positively guide them in areas of performance and provide constructive feedback with guidance and role modelling
Participate in professional and personal development
Be reliable, and able to work independently and take initiative
Skills and experience:
Diploma in Children's Services or currently enrolled in an equivalent course as per ACECQA guidelines
Experience within an OSHC or other child care related setting
First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card)
National Police Certificate - less than 6 months old
Experience with QikKids or OWNA (childcare software) is advantageous
An understanding of the Child Care Subsidy Structure
Hours will vary so flexibility is required. Shifts will vary from 6.30am start to a 6pm finish Monday to Friday. Flexibility in rostering is available though some split shifts will be required as well as vacation care shifts during school holidays.
