About the Role
Are you looking to begin a career in administration? Are you organised, reliable and keen to learn new skills in a supportive environment?
We are excited to offer a traineeship opportunity as a Trainee Environment and Planning Administration Officer on a 2-Year Maximum Term Contract. This full time position for 2 years could be ideal for someone who is at the start of their career or looking for a career change. No prior experience is needed, however a strong desire to learn and grow is essential.
You will gain valuable hands-on experience while receiving full training and mentoring to complete a Certificate IV in Business, developing your skills in a busy office environment. A salary in the range of $707.70 to $1,230.40 gross per week will be offered to the successful applicant. The final remuneration will be based on the skills, experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the role, in accordance with Council's salary structure and Award conditions. The position is based at Council's Culcairn Office and works a 35-hour week on a 9-day fortnight arrangement.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Assisting team members with administration functions within the Environment and Planning department
- Providing excellent customer service to customers and directing queries to the appropriate team member
- Learning to use internal and external systems relevant to the department, and
- Assisting with the review and development of systems, procedures, forms and checklists.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is enthusiastic about administration and has an interest in environment and planning functions
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Enjoys learning and using technology
- Is eager to work across a number of areas within the environment and planning department, and
- Is organised, reliable and committed to their own professional development.
You will also need to be committed to completing the traineeship and meet the following requirements, or be willing to obtain:
- Certificate IV in Business for up to 2 years, and
- Australian class 'C' drivers license.
