As Head of Finance and Corporate Services at Beacon Foundation, you’ll operate at both strategic and operational levels - guiding finance, governance, ICT, and corporate services while contributing directly to our mission of helping young people to confidently transition from education to employment.
We’re looking for a leader who brings commercial acumen, curiosity, and compassion — someone who can think big-picture while keeping the day-to-day running smoothly. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring Beacon’s financial sustainability, excellence in governance, and systems capability, while providing trusted advice to the CEO, Board, and Executive Team.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will:
Have strong commercial and strategic acumen and be able to translate financial and organisational insights into action.
Provide confident leadership at both strategic and operational levels, bringing vision, execution, and accountability, backed by experience leading Finance, ICT, and Corporate Services
Consistently demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage Boards, senior executives, funders, auditors, and key partners.
Lead and actively contribute to all financial operations including accounts receivable/payable, BAS/PAYG, payroll and month/year-end close.
Provide strategic and operational advice to the CEO, Board and Executive Team on financial performance, risk and resourcing.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes to ensure alignment with strategic goals, while developing multi-year forecasts, financial scenarios, and sustainability plans.
Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and external audits, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and ACNC/ASIC obligations.
Serve as Company Secretary, maintaining statutory registers, preparing Board papers and minutes, and ensuring good governance practice.
Provide structured governance and compliance reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee and Board.
Develop and oversee policies and internal controls across finance, ICT, procurement, administration, and broader corporate services functions.
Manage external managed service providers (MSPs) and ICT vendors.
Drive system optimisation and technology adoption to enhance efficiency, data integrity and user experience.

Qualifications required:
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or related discipline (required).
CPA Australia or CA ANZ membership (required).
Minimum five years’ post-qualification experience in senior finance roles with both strategic and operational responsibilities.
