Field Service Technician – Mechanical

Are you a mechanically skilled technician looking to work outdoors and be part of Australia’s renewable energy future? We've partnered with a leader within renewable energy looking for a Field Service Technician to join the Operations & Maintenance team on a Solar Farm near Emerald, Queensland.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician – Mechanical, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and servicing mechanical systems and equipment across the site. This hands-on role is field-based and critical to the reliable operation of our plant.

$115,000 - $118,000 Per Year + super Experience Dependent

Monday to Friday (38hrs Per Week)

Tools, PPE Provided

Key responsibilities include:

Carry out predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and structures

Service, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including solar trackers, tractors, slashers, and RTVs

Perform routine inspections and performance monitoring of mechanical assets

Manage maintenance work orders, including tracking and reporting

Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for technical support and parts

Undertake vegetation control (mowing, spraying, pruning) and panel cleaning

Operate machinery such as tractors, RTVs, zero-turn mowers, and other field equipment

Perform general site maintenance and support wider operations as needed

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or trades

High Risk Work Licence

Valid C Class Driver’s Licence (2–4 ton vehicles)

Ability to use digital systems for reporting and maintenance records

A strong commitment to safety, quality, and reliability

Certificate II or III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining)
