We are currently seeking a number of highly organised and motivated APS5 Grants Assessors to assist with a large Federal Government Grant over a 4 month assignment assignment.

The team
The branch is committed to improving the efficiency of delivering current grant funding, including through continued improvement of the grant management arrangements with the grant
hubs. This includes reducing touch points with grant recipients, providing accurate grant-related data and improving the grant administration experience for our policy and program divisions. The team works collaboratively across the branch to develop tools and resources to support implementation, ongoing functionality and continuous improvement

The role

  • Work collegiately under general direction within a geographically dispersed team to undertake grant assessment activities.
  • Undertake pre-eligibility, compliance and organisational checks for incoming applications.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of grant applications in accordance with the Grant Opportunity Guidelines eligibility and assessment criteria, approved standard
  • operating procedures and related policies and guidelines to ensure fair and consistent grant assessments.
  • Prepare detailed written assessment reports summarising outcomes and providing clear funding recommendations, ensuring transparent and informed decision making.
  • Support Team Leaders in facilitating the delivery of high-quality work within the Assessment Centre, and support new team members, familiarising them with the grant
  • procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of streamlined assessment procedures fostering continuous improvement to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Assessment Centre.
  • Take initiative in evaluating personal performance against established standards, identifying areas for improvement and actively seeking opportunities for selfdevelopment
  • and growth.
  • Contribute to and assist with general reporting and advice to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Liaise with internal staff and external agencies on matters relating to the work area where required.
  • Ensure records are accurate, complete and

are managed in accordance with Departmental policy.
Ideally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Grant assessment experience within Government environment
  • Demonstrated analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound judgement, ability to think strategically, identify issues and escalate potential risks
  • Experience utilising the whole of government grant system known as GPS

You will need experience working in a similiar environment. You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail. You will also need to be an Australian Citizen with a current police check. A baseline security clearance is highly desirable.

These roles will commence from early-November with interviews to commence immediately. Assignments are through to arch 2026 with view to extension. These positions are full-time business hours, offering $55 per hour + super. Positions are available as 100% WFH roles, however applicants will need their own device with dual screens and reliable internet.
