About the firm:
Our client is a remote chartered accounting firm with staff situated across Australia. This contemporary firm has been an early adopter of technology and innovation, allowing them to provide comprehensive accounting, business advisory, CFO and training services.

About the position:
We seek an experienced accountant to support the Accounting Lead in reviewing and developing other accountants and managing relationships and compliance work for half of the client base. This is a balanced role between technical review, team support, and client delivery—ideal for an intermediate or senior accountant who enjoys variety, leadership, and hands-on client work.

Review and provide feedback on work prepared by accountants.

Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns, and BAS.

Support the bookkeeping team with accounting guidance and reconciliation direction.

Manage direct relationships with small-to-medium clients, handling compliance and advisory queries.

Identify process improvements to lift quality and efficiency across accounting workflows.

Collaborate with leadership to maintain consistent quality control and training standards.

Manage workflow and communication using Karbon HQ and maintain up-to-date client information in HubSpot.

The ideal candidate:

4-6 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.

Strong technical background in Australian taxation and financial reporting.

Experience reviewing or mentoring junior accountants.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear client focus.

CA or CPA qualified (or working towards).

Practical mindset—able to simplify complex issues and deliver timely solutions.

Tools and Systems:
The bookkeeping and workflow environment includes:

Xero - core accounting and reporting

Karbon HQ - workflow and communication management

HubSpot - CRM and client record management

Ignition - client engagements and payments

Content Snare - document collection

SharePoint - document storage

Familiarity with these platforms (especially Xero and Karbon HQ) will help you thrive quickly.

Candidates must reside in Australia and have permanent, unrestricted Australian working rights.
