We’re currently partnering with a leading child and family services provider to recruit a Deputy Manager for their Out of Home Care program.
This is a pivotal leadership role supporting the Manager to oversee OOHC operations, lead a team of Team Leaders, and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery that meets compliance and practice standards.
You’ll play a key role in building capability, strengthening practice, and supporting staff to deliver excellent outcomes for children, young people, carers and families.
The Role
- Provide leadership, supervision and practice guidance to Team Leaders across OOHC programs.
- Ensure services meet OCG, DCJ and contractual compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support children and young people’s wellbeing and permanency goals.
- Identify learning needs, develop staff capability, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Support the Manager with reporting, data analysis and operational planning.
About You You’re an experienced leader in child and family services with a strong understanding of OOHC or Permanency Support Programs. You bring warmth, resilience and a steady hand — able to balance operational oversight with people leadership and a commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
You’ll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Services (or related field).
- Proven leadership experience, ideally supporting Team Leaders or multidisciplinary teams.
- Sound knowledge of child protection, OOHC compliance and quality frameworks.
- Strong communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.
Why This Role? This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with a respected organisation committed to trauma-informed, culturally safe and evidence-based practice. You’ll be part of a supportive leadership team that values collaboration, innovation and professional development.
Location: NSW (travel between sites required)
Position: Full-time, permanent
Flexibility: Some evening and overnight travel required
If you’re a values-driven leader ready to support teams and create meaningful outcomes for children in care, we’d love to hear from you.
