A bit about the role

In this impactful role, you’ll collaborate with community leaders, service organisations, and internal teams to address systemic disadvantage, foster inclusive partnerships, and embed equity into Council policies and services.

You’ll be at the forefront of shaping a culturally safe and equitable city facilitating training, driving strategic initiatives, and amplifying the voices of those with lived experience. What you’ll deliver

  • Lead and implement strategic initiatives that promote cultural and social equity across Casey’s diverse communities.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with community leaders, service organisations, and internal teams to address systemic disadvantage.
  • Facilitate community led collaborations and ensure meaningful participation from people with lived experience.
  • Provide expert advice and support to Council projects, programs, and events on equity and inclusion matters.

Deliver training and capacity building initiatives to embed culturally safe and equitable practices across the organisation.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree or diploma and/or experience in broad fields relevant to cultural and socio-economic equity work including Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, Humanities, Public Policy and Arts.
  • Demonstrated ability working with a diverse range of stakeholders and population groups to address systemic inequality, including intersecting issues of relevance to cultural and linguistically diverse people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disabilities, LGBTIQ+ people, and/or refugees and migrants.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of a range of programs within designated timeframes.
  • Relevant experience and work skills commensurate with the requirements of the position.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
