About the Role
We are seeking an Automation Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of industrial automation and control systems.
You’ll play a key hands-on role in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of automated processes across client sites, working alongside engineers, electricians, and project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, and maintain automation and control systems.
Assist with commissioning of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and other automation platforms.
Troubleshoot and repair automation system faults to minimise downtime.
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on automated systems.
Integrate sensors, actuators, drives, and other automation components.
Follow electrical and automation schematics and technical drawings.
Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards.
Travel to client sites for installation, commissioning, and service work (occasional living-away required).
About You
You’re a hands-on technician with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for automation. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and take pride in delivering safe, reliable, and technically sound solutions.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum 3 years’ experience in automation, electrical maintenance, or a related field.
Proven experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Ability to interpret electrical and automation schematics.
Basic PLC programming knowledge (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider) highly regarded.
Trade qualification in Electrical, Automation, or similar (Electrical Licence preferred).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Valid Australian work rights (Citizen, PR, or valid work visa).
