Meals on Wheels SA (MoWSA) is South Australia’s largest community-based volunteer organisation. With 6,000 volunteers, 150 staff, and 80 branches across the state, we deliver more than 1.1 million meals annually. Beyond meals, we provide vital social connection, helping over 12,000 South Australians each year to live independently and with dignity.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Facilities Technician (Electrical/Refrigeration) to join our Facilities and Contracts team. This is a hands-on role supporting the safety, functionality, and reliability of our kitchens, facilities, and equipment across MoWSA sites.

Working closely with the Facilities Manager, contractors, and volunteers, you will:

· Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns and investigate faults.

· Undertake repairs within scope and licensing, or coordinate external contractors.

· Support preventative maintenance and compliance programs.

· Conduct site inspections, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.

· Provide technical advice to staff and volunteers to support safe and efficient equipment use.

· Maintain accurate records, reports, and asset registers.

About You

You are a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a varied, hands-on environment. You will bring:

· A trade qualification in Electrical or Refrigeration with current licences (e.g. A Class Electrical Licence).

· Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance across multiple sites.

· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

· Ability to coordinate contractors and manage workflows.

· Knowledge of WHS and compliance frameworks.

· Current SA Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel.

· Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Experience in community or volunteer-led environments will be highly regarded.
