We’re seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Manager to join our vibrant, fast-paced hostel located in the heart of Alice Springs, Northern Territory. This newly rebranded hostel has recently acquired a long-standing property that has been welcoming travellers for nearly two decades.

In this role, you will take a hands-on approach to managing daily operations, ensuring guests enjoy outstanding service while supporting and motivating your team. You’ll also collaborate closely with management teams across multiple sites to continuously improve guest experiences and maintain a positive, inclusive work culture.

This is an all-rounder managerial role -ideal for someone who loves variety, people, and building great guest experiences.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hostel, ensuring a safe, fun and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
You’ll manage front-of-house, housekeeping, maintenance coordination, and staff performance while maintaining the high standards that make our hostel stand out.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily hostel operations including guest check-ins/outs and enquiries (capacity: 108 beds, average occupancy - 50%).

Manage rosters, staff training and team performance.

Handle banking, payroll, and daily cash reconciliations.

Maintain property presentation, cleanliness and safety standards.

Ensure compliance with operational and safety procedures.

Support and improve guest satisfaction and community engagement.

Assist with booking systems, channel management and OTA listings.

About You

Proven experience in hostel, motel or hotel management.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Proficiency with booking systems (experience with MEWS PMS desirable).

Financial and administrative management capability.

Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on guest experience.

Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.

National Police Clearance and full Australian working rights.

Ability to live and work comfortably in a remote location (Telstra coverage only).
