THE ROLE

We’re looking for a motivated Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team on a permanent basis.

This is a hands-on, site-based role involving both carpentry and site supervision. You’ll be responsible for overseeing and working on projects across Brisbane — from detailed renovations of established homes to new residential builds — with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Project Manager who will guide you through our internal processes and provide ongoing support where needed.

KEY ROLE ATTRIBUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Successfully deliver projects from pre-construction through to defect liability, handover and even ongoing maintenance

This is a hands-on role where you will be both ‘on the tools’ and overseeing a team of subcontractors on-site. A desire to want to still be on the tools is essential.

Interpret building plans, engineer reports, specifications and NCC;

Supervise subcontractors;

Slab set outs and from works

Check work and subcontractor performance in relation to company management system: site safety and environmental compliance.

To be aware of, identify, and bring to the attention of their supervisor any non-conformances with agreed and appropriate procedures, quality, WHS, environmental.

QA check building works;

be able to work independently and with a team

be trustworthy and honest

EXPERIANCE

to have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a leading hand carpenter position.

Fully qualified carpentry certificate

Strong track record in residential construction.

Experience or understanding of construction detail resolution.

Experience in doors, locks, windows, metalworks and finishing trades.

Good knowledge of basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical services.

Excellent attention to detail, quality and finish.

Understanding of construction sequences.

Ability to think through issues and resolve problems.

Ability to communicate instructions to other team members or sub-trades.

Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

to be well presented, with strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn and teach.

High degree of English proficiency.

Works well both in a team and independently, always seeing tasks through to completion.

Their own vehicle, active driver's license and white card; and

Australian working rights.
