Join our dedicated team at WACHS Great Southern – Albany as a Clinical Nurse – Nursery, where you will play a pivotal role in managing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality nursing care to our patients. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Clinical Nurse who is committed to excellence in clinical practice and patient care.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for maintaining national competence in nursing practice, providing professional advice, and ensuring high standards of care delivery across our unit. Your leadership skills will shine as you coordinate operational management on a shift-by-shift basis, engage in multi-disciplinary services, and actively participate in quality improvement and research programs.

The ideal candidate:

  • Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Possession of or progression towards an appropriate post-graduate qualification in neonatal care.
  • Extensive clinical knowledge and proven experience in delivering evidence-based nursing care.
  • Strong skills in planning, coordination, and decision-making within a clinical setting.
  • Exceptional team leadership capabilities and the ability to foster effective teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with noteworthy interpersonal abilities for negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • A sound understanding of quality and risk management principles and their application within practice.
  • Knowledge of current legislative and policy obligations affecting nursing practice and healthcare service delivery.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Act as a clinical expert, offering professional guidance on clinical standards and practices.
  • Lead unit-based decision-making and monitor progress towards unit and hospital goals.
  • Identify patient education needs and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Assist in resource planning and ensure the efficient use of resources within the unit.
