The Mount Warning Beverage Co is a producer of premium bottled water, based near Murwillumbah in Northern NSW. Our brands include Mount Warning Mineral Water and Yaru Water. As an Australian owned family business, we continue the legacy of our forefather who settled here in 1904. Our story dates back over 100 years, when the property was selected for its rich soil, lush surroundings, and naturally occurring springs. Today, we operate from our purpose-built bottling plant at the source and have sustainability and ethos at the heart of our business: we were recently awarded the ‘sustainable beverage manufacturer of of year’ title at the change maker awards. We are seeking a full-time hands-on Production and Maintenance Technician to join our team and support us in our growth.
Qualifications & experience
Hands-on – we are a small team; you must be a hands-on operationally focussed person.
Mechanical aptitude – you are mechanically minded and ideally can draw on previous experience to effectively operate beverage manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics and pneumatics, and respond to challenges with mechanical insight.
Technical skills – it's a bonus if you have experience with automated equipment and PLC computer controls, can input recipes and data.
Eye for detail – you must be hawk-eyed, naturally curious, and hyper observant to your surrounds to avoid mistakes and breakdowns, improve processes and get the best value from our production lines.
Solutions focused – you can think critically, quickly, and independently, and can solve complex problems, while keeping calm under pressure.
Highly organised – you are organised and can keep meticulous records to meet compliance requirements.
FMCG, automated food or beverage manufacturing or bottling/packaging industry experience a bonus.
Previous experience with bottling lines a plus, e.g. Krones, Kosme, Sidel or KHS systems.
Experience in a trade as a Trade Technician, Fitter, Fabricator, Engineer highly regarded.
Computer Literacy – advanced Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook skills.
Knowledge of food-grade standards (HACCP, GMP) desirable.
Forklift licence essential.
Full driver’s licence essential.
Tasks & responsibilities
You will be responsible for daily production operational requirements / production runs.
You will be overseeing and actively partaking in the manufacturing process and ensuring efficient production operations.
You will be required to help operate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialist state-of-the-art bottling equipment, including conveying lines, a PET filling line, glass line, labelling machine, case packer, palletiser, depalletiser, date coders and pallet/stretch wrapper.
You will be responsible for plant production goals, including putting in place, implementing and improving systems and procedures to ensure plant operations meet production plans, product quality, health/safety/environment and cost standards.
Flexible scheduling and split shifts may be required during busy seasons.
