The NSW Government is committed to providing the homes that young people, families and workers need through reforms that are designed to streamline planning approvals for major housing developments. To make this happen as quickly as possible, the newly established Housing Delivery Authority | Planning (HDA) will lead a new streamlined State Significant Development (SSD) pathway and SSD with a concurrent rezoning process.

Play a role in increasing housing supply near existing infrastructure vital to supporting thriving, vibrant communities including more options for young people now and into the future. Work in the team responsible for a new approval pathway for major housing projects.
The role
No two days are the same! We are looking for Planning Assessment professionals to deliver high quality, efficient and timely operational advice to ensure State significant projects meet all statutory obligations, Government policy requirements, and Government goals. You will contribute to the assessment of the merits of state significant assessments within the benchmark timeframes in a manner to provide greater certainty for applicants and the community whilst not sacrificing the quality of these assessments.
In this interesting and dynamic role, you will be working on a wide range of planning matters. You will be analysing issues to recommend innovative options and solutions. The key to success in this role will be your ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service and managing the interests of our various stakeholders and the community.

What you will bring to the role
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members and prepare well written reports and other documentation. You will have the ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand material.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant environmental assessment and planning legislation and processes
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary degree qualification or other equivalent qualification
- Ability to travel and Class C Driver’s Licence for regional positions
