Document Controller/ Information Officer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Document Controller/Information Officer to support our client in the development, maintenance, and management of our precedent and document automation systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our precedent library is accurate, accessible, and efficient, while also assisting partners and staff with the creation, refinement, and automation of legal documents and workflows.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for improving processes that support high-quality legal work.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Aderant regarding feature requirements and software support.

Work closely with partners and Knowledge Champions to prioritise precedent development, conversion, and updates.

Manage the firm’s precedent library using Contract Express, including testing and implementing upgrades.

Provide strategic advice to partners and practice groups on precedent management and usage.

Undertake programming tasks for document automation and develop workflows within Aderant Case.

Liaise with partners and staff on precedent requirements, refinements, and currency.

Maintain and develop the firm’s Style Guide.

Undertake additional tasks as required, including system upgrades and precedent/document library maintenance.

About You
We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

Experience using Aderant Expert v8 and Aderant Expert Case.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365, with strong expertise in Microsoft Word (styles, formatting, templates).

Advanced knowledge of iManage Work 10.

Advanced knowledge and programming experience with Contract Express.

Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 environments.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to a diverse audience.

A highly organised, proactive approach with the ability to balance scheduled and ad hoc tasks.

Working Relationships
This role will work closely with:

Partners and staff across the firm.

Designated Knowledge Champions.

External software providers (Aderant and Contract Express).
