As part of a 24x7 operations environment, you'll provide technical leadership and escalation management, particularly during major incidents or shifts where senior operational leaders are unavailable. • Review and improve network monitoring and alarm configurations to enhance efficiency.
  • Represent the network operations function in technical and change review forums.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years' hands-on experience in large-scale, multi-vendor IP and/or Carrier Ethernet environments.
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Network protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, LDP, Segment Routing.
  • Layer 2 and 3 services: VPLS, Epipe, L3VPN, EVPN, QoS.
  • DWDM technologies: ROADM, TOADM, Optical Amplifiers, SyncE, and PTP.
  • Proven experience leading the resolution of high-severity and cross-domain technical incidents.
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication able to translate complex technical information for business and leadership audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure, make sound operational decisions, and deliver practical solutions.
  • Leadership capability in mentoring and guiding peers.
  • Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools in service assurance environments (highly regarded).

Why Join

You'll be part of a technically elite network operations team that safeguards one of Australia's most critical telecommunications infrastructures. Expect exposure to cutting-edge technology, a supportive engineering culture, and opportunities to lead initiatives that directly impact national connectivity and customer experience.
