About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Confident in working within a varied environment which may include mental health challenges, complex needs and high behaviours
• Provide assistance with daily personal care tasks and manual handling
• Facilitate client goal achievement through person-centred, active support
• Advocate for client choice and control
• Availability for casual, short notice shifts and sleepovers

Skills & Experience

• Experience working with people with disability
• Confidence in working with high behaviours and following behaviour support plans
• Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software
• An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain a NDIS Clearance.
