About the Role

The District Manager, Organisational Learning and Development (OL&D), plays a pivotal leadership role within the People and Culture Directorate, overseeing the delivery and strategic direction of OL&D services across the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD).

With a strong focus on aligning programs to the NSW Health Future Health Strategy, the NSW Health Workforce Plan, and MNCLHD’s strategic and people priorities, the role supports organisational and individual capability building. The position also provides expert, evidence-based advice to leaders and managers on current trends and best practices in learning and development to drive informed decision-making and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

The role involves building and maintaining strong partnerships across MNCLHD, NSW Health, and relevant external agencies, contributing to a positive, engaged organisational culture. It also leads the development of tools and strategies for monitoring and evaluating OL&D initiatives, ensuring data-driven reporting and continuous enhancement of services. As a leader, the District Manager ensures the team is supported, motivated, and professionally developed, role-modelling a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation.

This is a Full-Time Permanent role that offers flexibility in location, with the successful candidate able to be based in either Port Macquarie or Coffs Harbour. Two vibrant regional centres within the beautiful Mid North Coast Local Health District. Both locations offer a high quality of life, with stunning beaches, national parks, and a relaxed coastal lifestyle, while still providing access to excellent schools, health services, and amenities. About You

You will bring extensive knowledge and proven experience in organisational learning and development within large, diverse service organisations, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications. You have a strong track record in designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful learning programs and initiatives, coupled with excellent facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills.

As a seasoned leader, you excel in managing and inspiring teams of learning and development professionals, driving alignment with strategic priorities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills enable you to build and sustain collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives and leaders.

You demonstrate high-level analytical and problem-solving abilities, effectively addressing complex organisational challenges. Additionally, you have experience managing human, financial, and physical resources efficiently to meet budget and performance goals. Proficient with various computer applications and information systems, you use technology to support your work seamlessly.

You hold a current driver’s licence and are willing and able to travel as required to meet the needs of the role.

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area in the south to Coffs Harbour Local Government Area in the north.

MNCLHD is a non commercial government funded health organisation that provides quality health care at public hospitals in Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Macquarie and Wauchope.

There are 10 Community Health Centres in the District which are located at Bellingen, Camden Haven, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Macquarie, South West Rocks, Wauchope and Woolgoolga.
