We’re seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide trusted, in-house legal support three days per week (0.6 FTE) with flexible start times.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll help ALT navigate diverse legal matters across commercial contracts, employment law, governance, and risk management — ensuring our operations remain compliant and ethically sound across Australia and our expanding export activities.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, deeds, and supplier agreements.

Provide employment and workplace law advice under the Fair Work Act and relevant Awards.

Ensure ALT complies with all regulatory and statutory requirements.

Support corporate governance, policy development, and board documentation.

Liaise with regulators, insurers, and external legal counsel as required.

Advise on cross-border legal and U.S. compliance considerations (desirable).

Deliver legal and compliance training to managers and leaders.

Uphold confidentiality, privilege, and conflict-of-interest obligations.

About You

You’re a pragmatic, detail-driven lawyer who can turn complex legal issues into clear, practical agreements that can be understood by a range of stakeholders.

To succeed, you will have:

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and current WA practising certificate.

5–8 years’ post-admission experience in-house or within a commercial practice.

Strong knowledge of corporate, employment, and contract law.

Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with or exposure to U.S. or international legal frameworks (desirable).
