Project Coordinator opportunity
- Approx. $60-$70 per hour plus Super dependent on experience
- Assignment duration is up to 6 months. Immediate Start
- Melbourne CBD location/Hybrid Arrangement
About the role
Government agency requires an experienced Project Coordinator to join them on short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 6 months based in Melbourne CBD. As a Project Coordinator, you will coordinate and provide project delivery support, working closely with Program and Project Managers to ensure effective execution of project activities.
The successful candidate will have significant project delivery, strong coordination capabilities, strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced transformative or regulatory environment.
Responsibilities and duties
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Provide coordination and project support to assist in the planning, delivery, and monitoring of project activities.
- Support Project and Program Managers in preparing project plans, documentation, and reports to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
- Maintain project registers, documentation, and records, ensuring all information is accurate, complete, and well organised.
- Assist with risk and issue management by tracking, updating, and escalating as required.
- Support project financial processes, including obtaining quotations, raising purchase orders, and processing invoices in line with procurement policies.
- Coordinate project meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
- Assist in preparing advance PowerPoint presentations, reports, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Selection Criteria
The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:
- Project Support and Coordination: Demonstrated experience providing effective coordination and administrative support to assist in the delivery of projects within a structured framework or project environment.
- Organisation and Time Management: Strong ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation and build cooperative relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving and Initiative: Proven ability to identify issues, propose practical solutions, and follow through with minimal supervision.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in project management tools, spreadsheets, and document management systems to support planning, reporting, and record keeping activities.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve shared outcomes.
Qualifications
- Tertiary Qualifications in Project Management, combined with extensive relevant work experience.
- Advance PowerPoint skills.

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
