About the Role:
As a Housing Officer, you'll be an important part of a regional team managing public housing tenants. Your focus will be to support and assist customers/tenants by providing tenancy management services, information, referrals and advocacy.

What You'll Do:
Work with customers who have experienced significant life challenges or trauma
Provide housing solutions for vulnerable people experiencing a range of social and economic hardship
Conduct home visits for vulnerable and complex tenants
Managing tenancy related debt matters
Resolving disputes and concerns involving public housing tenancies
Build positive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and community members.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Experience in delivering community or human services
Proven ability to handle complex and sensitive assessments with care and empathy
Strong skills in managing competing demands and prioritising your workload
Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to make decisions independently
Proficient in using digital technology and customer information systems to deliver efficient service
A good understanding of social and housing challenges faced by underrepresented groups, including Aboriginal people and those living with disabilities
Qualifications in Community Service, Social Science or Human Services are a plus but not essential

Requirements:
Satisfactory National Police Clearance.
DHS Working with Children Check (renewed every 5 years).
Valid Australian Driver's Licence which must be maintained.
The incumbent in the role is a mandated notifier of child abuse under the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017.
