Willoughby City Council is seeking an Asset Officer who will be responsible for lifecycle planning of open space assets—including parks, playgrounds, sports facilities, bushland, and streetscapes—while delivering excellent customer service to stakeholders and clients.

About the Role
As the Asset Officer – Open Space, you will:
Coordinate and conduct inspections and data collection for Open Space assets, including condition assessments, service level evaluations, and asset inventories.
Develop lifecycle models, renewal programs, maintenance plans, and acquisition strategies to sustainably manage Open Space assets and reduce service risks.
Support the revaluation and capitalisation of Open Space assets to ensure accurate financial reporting and asset planning.
Prepare and implement Open Space asset management plans.
Maintain and update asset data within Council’s asset management system.
Streamline asset management processes to enhance service efficiency, reduce costs, and optimise asset performance and utilisation.
What You’ll Bring
Tertiary qualifications in landscape management, open space planning, or a related discipline; or demonstrated relevant work experience in a similar field.
Demonstrated knowledge of asset management principles, practices, and systems.
Experience in infrastructure condition auditing, data collection methodologies, and maintenance prioritisation.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and across multi-disciplinary environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to analyse and interpret excel effectively
Current Class C Drivers Licence.
Desirable:
Knowledge or Experience in Local or State Government or similar environments
Experience with Technology One and MapInfo.
Basic knowledge of project management.
