About the Role

In this role, you will be a key player in Council’s Procurement team, supporting the purchasing and distribution of supplies, materials and equipment. A core part of your responsibilities will be ensuring the timely movement of stock and delivery of goods, while also verifying that all items are received in good condition. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently coordinate the delivery on the daily operation of Council's Stores, including issuing, receiving and return of store items.
  • Identifying the most suitable source of supply for stock items and provide evidence how the supplier or contractor benefits Council.
  • Oversee store item issues, returns, and incoming goods.
  • Complete and maintain accurate stock and administrative records and associated transactional history in compliance with corporate record-keeping requirements.
About You

You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of procurement services, ensuring compliance with all procurement and Local Government legislation, policies and frameworks whilst having excellent customer service skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will also have:

  • Previous experience in procurement and warehousing, with a proven record of achievement.
  • The ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Well developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads to meet the high volume of procurement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of spare parts and quality control systems.
  • Forklift Licence
