About the Role:

As a Boilermaker/Welder at Century Engineering, you will:

Interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Utilise specialised tools like welding machines and cutting torches.

Collaborate with teams to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.

Uphold safety standards and maintain an organised workspace.

Work day shift 7:00am to 3:06pm or afternoon shift 3:00pm to 11:06pm.

What We're Looking For:

Must be Australian Trade qualified as a Boilermaker or have 5+ years experience as a Welder.

Proficiency in reading and fabricating from engineering drawings.

Strong welding skills with the ability to work to tight tolerances and proficiency with AS1554.5 and defence codes is a bonus.

Experience in MIG, TIG, FCAW, MCAW (proficiency with Metal cored process a major bonus due to this being our main process for defence contracts).

Ability to self-inspect work to the relevant code and hold yourself to a high standard.

Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Must be in Australia and have the right to work full time.

Minimum 5+ years of Fabrication/Welding experience is required to be considered for this role.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Candidates must pass a pre-qualification weld test and demonstrate competence in interpreting technical drawings. The pre-qualification weld test is as follows: 2G open root single bevel with 0.9 solid wire using the GMAW process. Candidates must demonstrate welding competency to multiple codes during this process.

PLEASE NOTE: All new employees commence on day shift during their first week at Century to complete initial training. The starting pay rate for this period is $42.00 p/h (full-time) or $52.50 p/h (casual). Following the first week, your rate will be reviewed and adjusted based on our MATRIX scoring system, which assesses performance and skill level. Further reviews will take place after one month and again at the six-month mark.
