THE OPPORTUNITY
Embolden is establishing a lived experienced engagement program to capture insights, feedback, advice and input from people with lived experience of domestic, family or sexual violence on key topics, including services and systems.
The Lived Experience Engagement Lead is based in Adelaide on Kaurna Country with a mix of working in the office and working from home.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design and delivery of engagement programs for people with lived experience of domestic, family and sexual violence in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Ensure that diverse communities and voices are at the centre of design and development, and that cultural safety is a key consideration.
Implement lived experience engagement programs including
Supporting participants to provide feedback, advice and input on key issues and to contribute to the design, development and evaluation of domestic, family and sexual violence policy, services and initiatives.
Documenting and analysing participant contributions and developing high-quality written reports.
Develop a monitoring and evaluations framework to measure outcomes for lived experience engagement, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Establish respectful and collaborative relationships with diverse lived experience participants and key stakeholders, including promoting a shared respect of diverse perspectives and the use of effective strengths-based, trauma-informed support techniques when facilitating consultations. The complex and sensitive nature of lived experience may require the use of specialised negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant tertiary education in social work, social sciences, psychology, community services, or equivalent experience (minimum 3 years) in the social work, community development or human services fields.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Experience in supporting the safety and wellbeing of people with lived experience, including in effective strengths-based, trauma-informed support techniques.
Experience in working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government.
Lived experience of domestic, family or sexual violence, or experience working with people experiencing or at risk of domestic, family or sexual violence is desirable, but not essential.
A sophisticated understanding of domestic, family and sexual violence and of the domestic, family and sexual violence services sector in South Australia.
A sound understanding of the systemic issues and barriers to equitable access to services for diverse groups is desirable.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
High level written communication skills, and the ability to prepare reports based on consultations
Skilled in managing workload and competing demands, and the ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
