About the Position
The Lead Youth Practitioner will deliver therapeutic support and casework for adolescent boys aged 12–18 who have experienced or are at risk of using family, domestic or sexual violence.
As a Lead Youth Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
Provide individual therapeutic support and case work for individuals
Facilitate weekly team meetings with staff in the program and allocate referrals
Mentor and support program staff
Advocate for culturally appropriate support and services
Undertake risk assessments and safety planning
Organise community events and represent the program at interagency meetings
Maintain accurate records and submit reports
Lead stakeholder engagement and promote the service

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, or community services
Experience in domestic, family and sexual violence, youth justice and child protection
Skills in therapeutic case work, advocacy and trauma-informed practice
Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Ability to lead and mentor staff
Strong communication and IT skills
Requirements of the role:
Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check *
Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check) *
Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a current NDIS Worker Screening Check *
Hold a current South Australian Driver’s License (minimum Provisional License)
