About the Role

As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across Central Adelaide Local Health Network’s (CALHN) acute care services. In this leadership position, you will contribute to the ongoing development and excellence of speech pathology services across CALHN. You will provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and education to junior clinicians, students, and assistants while actively engaging in service planning, research, and quality improvement initiatives. As a respected advocate and representative for the speech pathology profession, you will help shape models of care, influence policy, and collaborate across teams to enhance patient outcomes and strengthen CALHN’s reputation for clinical innovation and excellence.

About You

You are an experienced and dedicated Speech Pathologist with a passion for delivering exceptional, evidence-based care to adults with complex communication, swallowing, and cognitive needs. You bring leadership, empathy, and professionalism to every interaction—working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. Committed to lifelong learning, innovation, and clinical excellence, you thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment where your expertise makes a meaningful difference.

Clinical Expertise: Hold a recognised degree in Speech Pathology (eligible for full membership with Speech Pathology Australia) and have at least three years of post-qualification experience in managing adults with acute or complex health conditions.

Collaborative Leadership: Demonstrate advanced teamwork, negotiation, and communication skills with experience leading multidisciplinary initiatives, supervising staff or students, and fostering an inclusive and respectful team culture.

Evidence-Based Practice: Apply sound clinical judgement and evidence-based approaches in assessment, treatment, and decision-making, ensuring care is patient-centred, goal-oriented, and outcome-driven.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Exhibit strong organisational, problem-solving, and project leadership skills, with a proven record in driving service improvement, quality initiatives, and professional development across healthcare settings.
