Redland City Council offers you the chance to improve lives and shape your own career… in a truly special place.
Join our team as a Compliance Support Officer!
Are you passionate about working with the community and making a real difference in everyday life across the Redlands? In this public-facing, permanent full-time role, you’ll provide investigative, enforcement, and administrative services that support fair use of parking and follow up on animal registrations. Most of your time will be spent working in parking regulation - interacting directly with residents and visitors, addressing concerns, and helping uphold important local laws with professionalism and respect.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting investigations and enforcement activities related to parking and animal registration, including issuing infringement notices and preparing documentation.
Engaging with the public to provide respectful, high-quality customer service, education, and support around local laws and responsible behaviour.
Managing daily workloads and priorities to meet timeframes, customer expectations, and legislative requirements.
Working as part of a positive, high-performing team and assisting at the Animal Shelter as needed.
Undertaking animal registration compliance to support responsible pet ownership.
Skills and experience:
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a community-facing role - someone confident, approachable, and calm under pressure. You’ll need to be comfortable speaking with people from all walks of life, thinking on your feet, and respectfully handling sensitive situations. Strong customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to manage conflict, educate others, and make sound decisions in line with legislation. While prior experience with investigations and interpreting local laws is ideal, what matters most is your ability to engage effectively, stay resilient in a busy and often unpredictable environment, and work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team. If you’re motivated, adaptable, and ready to learn, we’ll support you to grow into the rest.
