About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a full-time, ongoing Development Team Lead to join our dynamic Business Systems business unit delivering and supporting bespoke developed applications. The Electoral Commission is an exciting place to work with a highly collaborative culture and strong public purpose.
We are looking for an experienced Team Lead, to run a multi-disciplinary agile development team to produce high quality solutions in preparation for state-wide elections. This requires the delivery of system enhancements and new solutions to be prepared against very tight deadlines creating a fast paced environment with great collaboration across all areas.
This exciting opportunity will suit an experienced Team Lead with an agile development background who can work at pace and bring their expertise and experience to drive continual improvement in application development.

Key knowledge, experience and essential requirements
As the successful candidate, you will have:
- Proven experience in managing the delivery of complex software projects, preferably in both Waterfall and Agile environments, including the demonstrated ability to accurately estimate and scope work to deliver software changes.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams for high performance against challenging deadlines in a matrix management environment.
- Extensive experience in application development with a strong technical background in Microsoft technologies and cloud computing platforms, such as Azure, including relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences including strong written and presentation skills.
- Strong track record in engaging at a technical level with teams to maximise individual team member and overall team performance.
- Demonstrated experience using a range of software development planning, monitoring reporting and quality assurance tools, such as Jira, Zephr, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
- Working knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Delivery.
- Knowledge and experience of ITIL/ITSM frameworks in practice.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.
- Satisfactory criminal record check results.
