An exciting opportunity for a Manager Depot Operations to lead and inspire a dedicated team, while driving operational excellence across Council’s depot activities. As the Manager Depot Operations, you will take the lead in overseeing the planning, coordination and execution of daily operations across works, fleet, and depot safety. You will set clear direction and foster accountability across teams, mentoring staff and cultivating a strong safety-first culture. With a focus on modern people management, you’ll empower your team to deliver maintenance plans on time and on budget, while promoting innovation and professional development at every level.
You’ll play a central role in ensuring Council’s depot functions are operating efficiently, safely, and in alignment with strategic goals. From monitoring service standards and coordinating fleet usage to supporting long-term forward planning, your leadership will ensure operational readiness and responsiveness. In addition to driving day-to-day operations, you’ll oversee key administrative processes, contribute to budget planning and financial reporting, and ensure compliance with procurement, safety and record-keeping standards.
To be successful you will need:
- Proven leadership and people management skills, with demonstrated experience in motivating teams, managing performance, resolving conflict, and fostering a positive and safe workplace culture.
- Extensive operational planning and depot management experience, including works programming, resource allocation, fleet and asset management, and contractor supervision across multiple worksites.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance standards and WHS requirements, particularly in local government operations, infrastructure maintenance, and depot safety.
- High-level administrative, financial and reporting capability, including experience in budgeting, procurement, contract management, and the use of asset and records management systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on delivering quality customer service, continuous improvement and strategic planning outcomes.

This is a full-time, permanent position offered at General Officer Level 7 ($117,132 - $124,116 p.a.) under our Enterprise Agreement 2025. Essential position requirements
- This position requires you to hold and provide evidence of a current and valid National Police Check (NPC) before being appointed to the position.
