An opportunity exists for an experienced PHP API Developer to join a dynamic technology team in Adelaide. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining robust, secure APIs using PHP and Symfony.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend developers
- Design, build, and maintain secure, high-performance APIs
- Apply best practices for validation, data protection, and transport security
- Maintain API versioning, error handling, and observability (logs, metrics, tracing)
- Document APIs using OpenAPI
- Conduct code reviews and support continuous improvement
- Participate across the full SDLC — from design to deployment and maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly
Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience with PHP8+, Symfony, SQL, and OpenAPI
- Knowledge of Oracle or Postgres databases (advantageous)
- Experience with Nginx, Docker, and GitHub
- Familiarity with Linux environments (RedHat preferred)
- Strong problem-solving ability and independent thinking
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Exposure to Kubernetes or Podman (desirable)
