Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop responsive, interactive web applications that prioritise user experience and performance
- Build and maintain Node.js/Express backend services
- Implement real-time audio recording, processing, and transcription features
- Integrate AI/LLM APIs (Claude, AWS Bedrock)
- Collaborate across the full stack to ensure seamless data flow and optimal performance
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using modern TypeScript
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability
- Deploy and monitor applications using modern DevOps practices

Required Technical Skills
Frontend:
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React 19, HTML5, and CSS3
- Extensive experience with Vite build tooling and modern frontend workflows
- Expertise in Tailwind CSS and responsive design patterns
- Experience with browser media APIs (MediaRecorder, Web Audio API) for audio recording
- Client-side storage solutions (IndexedDB, LocalForage)
- State management patterns (React Query, XState or similar)

Backend:
- Solid Node.js and Express.js experience
- RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience with background job processing and queuing

General:
- Git version control and collaborative development workflows
- Automated testing (Playwright E2E, Vitest/Jest unit testing)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Performance optimization for media-heavy applications

Nice to Have
- Experience building medical/healthcare applications
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance considerations
- Familiarity with audio/speech recognition technologies
- Knowledge of rate limiting and API abuse prevention
