The Role

As a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice at DGE, you will work alongside our team of skilled Senior Electricians, Project Managers, and Engineers. Based in Townsville, you will gain hands-on experience and training to develop your skills and knowledge within the electrical industry. This is a full-time position offering opportunities for growth and professional development in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist senior electricians with day-to-day tasks on various electrical projects.

Support in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, following safety regulations and standards.

Gain practical experience with wiring, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, and electrical components.

Participate in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical issues, developing your problem-solving skills.

Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Attend weekly training sessions to enhance your technical skills and understanding of electrical systems.

Engage in regular team meetings, providing updates on your progress and contributing to project discussions.

Requirements:

Educational Requirements: Currently enrolled in a Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) or equivalent.

Experience: At least one year of apprenticeship training completed, with a solid grasp of basic electrical principles and some hands-on experience.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with standard electrical tools and equipment, and a foundational knowledge of electrical systems.

Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of safety protocols, with a commitment to safe work practices.

Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Dependability: Punctual, reliable, and keen to learn.
