The Role

Little Drifter Glebe needs steady pair of hands at the helm. Someone flexible, hands-on and focused on delivering the best possible experience for our guests and staff.

You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations, keep cool when the unexpected happens and be a dependable, approachable presence your team can count on.

This is a job for someone who can leave the ego at the door and roll up their sleeves – you might need to step into housekeeping one day and welcome guests another.

Your day-to-day includes:

Leading and rostering a small team across reception, housekeeping, events and casual staff.

Driving guest experience – from check-in through to Drifter Social Club events.

Overseeing property standards (cleanliness, safety, minor maintenance).

Managing admin tasks including payroll approvals, inventory, and reporting.

Act as the face of the property – engaging guests, supporting your team, and stepping in wherever needed.

Our doors are open 24/7, so as Hostel Manager you’ll sometimes need to work evenings, weekends or public holidays when required.

Who We're Looking For

This role is the perfect next step for a Supervisor or Duty Manager ready to step into property leadership. You’ve got hospitality in your veins, with hotel, hostel or co-living experience and the confidence to lead a team.

You’re a natural communicator – making both guests and staff feel confident and well looked after.

Flexibility and adaptability are key in this role. You need to be organised, dependable and have a strong attention to detail. You’re proactive and solutions-focused, able to think on your feet when challenges arise and keep a calm, positive presence for your team.

You’ve got a good head for numbers – comfortable with budgets, rosters and payroll, and confident making operational decisions that balance guest experience with business needs.

Above all, you’re passionate about creating a welcoming, community-driven environment that makes Drifter stand out as one of the best places to stay and play.

As the younger sibling of the Drifter brand, Little Drifter may have fewer amenities than our flagship properties, but it brings all the same community vibes, events, and high-end, thoughtfully curated design.

215 beds with high end common areas and one of the best rooftops in Sydney.

Small, tight-knit crew of 10-15 core staff.

Everyone wears multiple hats – from host services, through to housekeeping checks, small maintenance fixes and event hosting.

You’ll report directly to the Regional General Manager, with support from the wider Drifter team.
