We’re a small business based in Green Point, Central Coast, looking for an experienced bookkeeper or BAS agent to provide ongoing accounting support. The workload is light - a few hours per month - but we value accuracy, reliability, and good communication.

About the Role

The owner of a growing business currently handles most bookkeeping in-house and is looking for someone to take over the more technical finance tasks initially, including:

Processing wages for 7 staff twice per month (once a month will require you to calculate the bonuses due)

Preparing and paying monthly PAYG liabilities

Preparing and lodging quarterly BAS

Providing occasional advice or assistance with general bookkeeping, compliance, and accounting matters.

As you settle in there will likely be the option to add more work over time.

Total workload averages 5–6 hours per month, with slightly more during BAS quarters.
You can mostly work remotely, but ideally come in to touch base once per quarter.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

3+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience

Strong knowledge of Australian payroll, PAYG, superannuation, and BAS

Proficiency with MYOB Business.

A registered BAS Agent status (or ability to work under one)

Excellent attention to detail and reliability

This would suit a freelance bookkeeper or possibly a small accounting firm looking to work closely with me for the long term - someone who’s happy to learn our systems and operate as part of the team, not just an external service.

Hours & Pay

Approximately 5–6 hours per month

Mostly remote, with occasional on-site visits (once per quarter)

Hourly rate negotiable based on experience
