We are recruiting for a Clinical Lead to support the establishment and ongoing operations of our new Centre located in and supporting the Warren-Blackwood region.

About the Role

The Clinical Lead is primarily responsible for ensuring our day-to-day clinical work is carried out to effectively meet the needs of young people accessing our services. Reporting to the Centre Manager, this position is entrusted to:

  • Coordinate integrated intake and youth friendly mental health services to young people accessing the centre and services across the region
  • Deliver and coordinate robust clinical supervision in accordance with the Organisation's Supervision Policy and provide professional day-to-day support to clinicians
  • Facilitate regular clinical case review meetings, consultations, and team meetings to ensure appropriate clinical service delivery and pathway
  • Liaise with relevant services and referrers to promote a coordinated service delivery for young people
  • Ensure that professional standards of clinical care, record keeping, and reporting requirements are complied with, including relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures
  • Foster an engaging team culture aligned with organisational values
  • Support the Centre Manager with key people management practices, including performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and reward/recognition
  • Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of enhanced clinical policies, procedures, guidelines and strategic planning
About You

To be considered for this position, applicants will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, OT, Mental Health Nursing) and current full registration/membership with AASW or AHPRA
  • Advanced knowledge and extensive demonstrated experience working with young people and families including those at risk of suicide, depression and/or self-harm, and an understanding of the issues that impact on families/young people
  • A passion for working with young people and demonstrated experience working with diverse young people and stakeholders, including LGBTQIA+, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people, and CaLD people
  • Extensive experience responding to incidents and mitigating risk, including undertaking complex clinical screening and assessments to determine risk
  • Demonstrated leadership experience of multidisciplinary teams, including the provision of clinical supervision, facilitation of clinical reviews and performance management processes
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work tasks and deliver to deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including efficient problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including collaborating with other service providers
  • Demonstrated experience of embedding strong governance, quality, safety and continuous improvement in all aspects of service delivery
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Suite, electronic recording systems, and database applications
  • 'C' Class Driver's Licence, access to a reliable vehicle and capacity to travel when needed
  • Capacity to work outside of standard hours (up to 2 late shifts per week)

Established in 1994, Youth Focus delivers innovative and accessible mental health services and programs across Western Australia to help young people aged 12 to 25.

A key component of this is our role as the lead agency for five headspace centres, including our new headspace Manjimup Centre.

The headspace mission is to collaborate to design and deliver innovative ways of working with young people to strengthen their mental health and wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support, and alcohol and other drug services.
