Mars Recruitment is partnering with a leading financial services organisation to appoint a Senior Risk Manager. This role will lead business risk initiatives and oversee the first line of defence, playing a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and manage operational risks across the business.

Monitor key risk indicators and report on risk mitigation strategies to senior management.

Support identification, documentation, and remediation of risk issues, escalating where necessary.

Lead risk assessment activities, ensuring effective controls are implemented and maintained.

Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and execute tailored risk mitigation plans.

Perform controls assurance, identify gaps, and work with teams to strengthen key controls.

Maintain risk management documentation, including risk registers, ensuring compliance with governance standards.

Prepare detailed risk management reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging risk trends.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) preferred.

Minimum 7 years' experience in risk management, ideally including first line.

Proven experience in risk assessment, control implementation, and mitigation within complex organisations.

Experience in technology or payments risk is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and industry best practices.

Proficiency with risk management software and tools.
