About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic retail and café environment. This is not an office job — it’s an on-the-floor management position where you’ll lead by example, drive team performance, and ensure every customer leaves with a smile.
You’ll oversee both the café and fresh produce store, balancing operational excellence with great service, visual merchandising, and efficient ordering.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily café and store operations with a strong floor presence — including serving customers and assisting the team during busy periods.

Oversee café performance — maintaining speed, consistency, coffee quality, and presentation standards.

Supervise and support barista, kitchen, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Manage the Fruit & Veg and grocery departments — ensuring fresh, high-quality, well-stocked, and visually appealing displays.

Plan and execute menus, specials, and in-store promotions to boost sales and customer engagement.

Handle stock control, ordering, supplier relationships, and cost management to maximize profitability.

Coordinate wholesale orders and deliveries for local cafés, schools, and businesses.

Recruit, train, and motivate team members and Junior employees — fostering a positive, productive, and service-driven workplace.

Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and seasonal trends to improve performance and product mix.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation across all areas.

Work closely with senior management across the JB Alliance Group to share insights, implement best practices, and deliver business goals.

What We’re Looking For

3–5 years of café or retail management experience — ideally in a fresh produce, grocery, or hospitality environment.

A lead-from-the-front attitude — you love being on the floor, engaging with customers, and supporting your team.

Experience in coffee service, café operations, and hospitality leadership.

Proven ability to manage staff rosters, stock control, and daily operations efficiently.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task under pressure.

A genuine passion for fresh, local produce, community engagement, and sustainability.

Experience with organic or health-focused grocery lines is a plus.
