Your part in our UnitingCare team
StandBy – Support After Suicide provides support to anyone bereaved or impacted by suicide, including individuals, families, witnesses, first responders, workplaces and community groups. StandBy offers free face-to-face and/or telephone support, and fully funded education and training to build community awareness and resilience.
We are seeking a highly motivated Service Leader join our team supporting the Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast StandBy Primary Health Network region. You will be a key member of our leadership group and be passionate about community engagement and embedding a culture of collaboration and service excellence.
This is a highly dynamic and challenging role, with an emphasis on community support and engagement. As a Service Leader you will be supported by Senior StandBy Workers to coordinate a team of casual workers across the PHN to deliver face-to-face or telephone support sessions. Additionally, you will assess the resources, skills and experience available in the community and partner with community and service providers to plan, organise and evaluate events and workshops around the topic of suicide postvention.
As this rewarding role is in a specialist area, you will be provided with guidance and training, mentoring, external supervision and professional development opportunities.
What makes a difference for us?
You will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of people impacted by suicide and:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field including psychology, counselling, mental health, social work, or community development.
Demonstrated ability, exceptional skills, knowledge and outcomes attained through previous positions with a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required of this position.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and licensing requirements associated with the service.
Demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve service performance outcomes together with an ability to provide quality supervision and training.
Thorough understanding of program management principles and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective systems, procedures and processes within prescribed policies and guidelines.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is desirable, however preferred applicant will be supported to obtain upon recruitment
Current Qld Driver Licence
Working with Children Check (Blue Card - Paid)
