Full Stack / Backend Engineer (JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, Linux)

South Yarra (Hybrid - 3 days in office) | $120k-$140k + super

We're looking for a technically strong engineer who understands how systems work end to end. Someone who writes clean, efficient JavaScript, knows their way around Node.js and TypeScript, and is comfortable in Linux environments with solid networking knowledge.

You'll join a collaborative team building modern, cloud-based software used across Australia and internationally. The role suits a developer who's confident in their fundamentals, enjoys solving complex problems, and likes having ownership across design, build, and delivery.

What you'll bring:

Strong commercial experience with JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript

Confident working in Linux, with solid networking fundamentals (TCP, UDP, HTTP, TLS)

Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and working with AWS or similar cloud platforms

Familiarity with Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD automation

Strong understanding of data structures, async behaviour, and performance optimisation

A hands-on, curious mindset with attention to scalability, reliability, and clean design

What you'll be doing:
You'll be working across cloud, web, and device environments, helping to design, build, and maintain distributed systems and APIs that support Vivi's growing platform. Expect to be involved in everything from code optimisation and testing to DevOps, deployment, and continuous improvement. It's an environment where engineers stay close to the system and are encouraged to learn, experiment, and contribute across the stack.
