Provide authoritative strategic and operational advice that influences contemporary nursing/midwifery practice and service delivery across the health service and NT Health
The Senior Director of Nursing provides strategic leadership, direction, support and oversight of the entire Mental Health Nursing workforce, promoting the highest standards of clinical and corporate governance while driving performance to achieve organisational targets and objectives. The role additionally includes accountability for the safety and quality, financial and operational management across all areas of nursing related service delivery.
Key duties and responsibilities
Leads and collaborates in the development, review, and evaluation of services, including interpreting established professional precedents and organisational policies, and supporting change management as required for operational effectiveness and delivery of contemporary safe and effective healthcare.
Accountable for compliance with regulatory, professional, and organisational requirements, including establishing systems and accountabilities to monitor and address outcomes.
Creditably advocate for nursing/midwifery and represent the profession(s) effectively within the NT and interstate.
Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour
