Senior Community Development Officer
Salary Package: $126,859 per annum plus super

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the delivery and evaluation of community development strategies and policies.
- Build strong relationships with residents, community groups, government agencies, and businesses.
- Develop and deliver projects and programs that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and resilience.
- Represent the City at regional and state-level forums, advocating for community priorities.
- Support and mentor others within the Community Development team.
- Manage project budgets, prepare business cases, reports, and funding applications.
- Identify and pursue partnership and grant opportunities to expand community impact.
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven background in community engagement, capacity-building, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Excellent project management, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a supportive team environment.
- Sound understanding of local government or regional community contexts (desirable).
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence and recent National Police Clearance.

The City boasts a comprehensive working local history collection containing maps, plans, documents, photographs, newspapers, ephemera and oral history recordings. These are housed at the Karratha Public Library.
