The Role:
This CFO position has a broad scope. It will suit someone that appreciates working with the executives on development and delivery of strategy, as well as working closely with their team to deliver financials. The hands-on components of the role will keep you grounded, whilst you will lead the technical delivery of statutory reporting and management reporting. You’ll will also need to potentially process invoices or post journals at busy periods.

They run their finance team in a streamlined manner, and you must be happy and humble in terms of your approach on this.

They are mostly self-funded by operations in commercial sectors. Their success against private sector competition is due to effective costing practices and strong brand recognition. You will play a key role in the effective financial management of these key business lines, ensuring they stay competitive, maintaining and building upon their market share.

They maintain complex financial models for this part of their business, as the CFO you will be responsible for upkeep and development of these.

They have an impressive board and executive team. They restructured last year and are well positioned for growth.

This is a permanent position and available for an immediate start. The salary on offer is $180k + super.

Your Skills and Experience:
You must be able to demonstrate that you have delivered in a role with similar responsibilities and expectations in the past. A critical component of the role is the need to be hands-on, if your career has elevated you to a position that has seen you leave these skills behind or you have no desire to be involved at this level of detail then this is not the role for you.

Excellent communication skills are fundamental to your success, as are demonstrable technical financial skills.

CA/CPA qualifications are preferred, you must also be at least a permanent resident of Australia. Commercial experience from complex, cost focused businesses will make you a strong candidate for this role.
