Bendigo Heritage is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the role of Cleaning Supervisor.
Founded on one of the world’s richest goldfields, Bendigo is a vibrant regional city with a strong arts, culture and food scene. A not-for-profit organisation, Bendigo Heritage is responsible for the management of Bendigo’s leading heritage tourist attractions: Central Deborah Gold Mine, Bendigo Tramways, the Tramways Workshop and the Bendigo Joss House Temple.
To be successful you must have:
Supervise and coordinate cleaning and gardening activities across all Bendigo Heritage sites, providing training and support to the cleaning team to ensure consistent quality and compliance with standards.
Undertake routine and periodic cleaning and gardening tasks across all areas of Bendigo Heritage, including public, staff, and operational spaces.
Develop, implement, and monitor cleaning and gardening schedules to ensure all areas are well maintained.
Ensure facilities, grounds, and public spaces are well presented, safe, and welcoming for visitors and team members.
Manage consumables, supplies, and equipment to ensure availability, readiness, and functionality.
Report, prioritise, and follow up on maintenance issues, safety hazards and damages.
Promote recycling, waste reduction, and environmentally sustainable practices wherever possible.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, organisational policies, and correct use of PPE.
Other duties within training and competencies as required.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Demonstrated experience in cleaning and gardening maintenance.
Sound knowledge of cleaning equipment, gardening tools, and the safe handling of chemicals.
Ability to monitor, prioritise and follow up on general maintenance issues effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide and support team members, and plan and coordinate tasks across multiple sites.
Proven ability to follow procedures accurately, effectively, and efficiently.
Flexible and adaptable, with the capacity to balance hands-on work with supervisory responsibilities.
Dependable, responsible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good level of fitness and stamina to carry out required duties.
Special Requirements:
Current Driver’s License (Manual Driver’s License desirable)
All Bendigo Heritage employees and volunteers are required to have a valid Working with Children Check.
