PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Fabricator is responsible for stainless steel and mild steel fabrication in a brand new, busy and fast paced Perth workshop.

It is crucial for the Fabricator to adhere to company procedures and standards. This involves following safety protocols, using the appropriate tools and equipment, and documenting all work performed.

The Fabricator will provide light fabrication for the assembly and manufacture of conveyors and materials handling equipment.

Some domestic and interstate travel may be required (not FIFO). Some after hours and weekend work may also be required.

This is primarily an inward facing role:

Inwardly

liaising with the Operations Manager/Project Manager/Workshop Manager/Team Leader

liaising with the Engineering Team

liaising with the Procurement Team

Outwardly

liaising with customers

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Fabricating & welding for light to medium gauge mild and stainless steel.

MIG/TIG welding, both mild and stainless steel.

At times, you may be required to support the Service Team.

Proactively ensure personal safety and the safety of others by complying with the Company's health and safety policies and procedures.

Ensure that the work is carried out to the Company's technical standards while adhering to agreed Company health and safety standards.

Respectful and appropriate handling of company resources.

Foster an environment of open, honest and respectful communication – particular where risk is concerned.

KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Trade Certificate.

Experience in manufacturing workshop fabricating and TIG Welding stainless steel and mild steel from 1mm to 5mm (Light Fabrication).

Experience in manufacturing workshop fabricating and MIG Welding stainless steel and mild steel from 1mm to 5mm (Light Fabrication).

Ability to operate NC break press to a high standard.

Ability to read drawings.

Self-sufficient – able to work autonomously.

Commitment to meet our quality and safety standards.

Ability to assemble and weld parts to a food hygiene standard.

Possess good communication and customer service skills.

Be able to work as a team.

Be able to provide/or pass a Police Clearance to access some of our customers sites.

Fitting and machining experience, Forklifting License, White Card will be highly regarded.
