Maintenance Assistant – Full Time (Sunshine Coast)

As our business continues to grow, we are now seeking a motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our Property Maintenance Team. The Maintenance Assistant will work alongside and report directly to our Senior Maintenance Coordinator, supporting day-to-day repairs, preventative maintenance, and the general upkeep of our premium property portfolio.

The Role

This is a full-time, hands-on position ideal for someone practical, dependable, and eager to learn. The Maintenance Assistant will attend to varied property maintenance, inspections, and repair work to ensure each home consistently meets Welcome Ready’s high-quality standards.

The Maintenance Assistant will travel between properties across the Sunshine Coast using your own vehicle and tools (a travel allowance is provided), and may occasionally assist with urgent after-hours callouts.

Key Responsibilities

● Support the Senior Maintenance Coordinator in completing scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks.

● Perform basic repairs and liaise / assist qualified trades where required.

● Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance issues.

● Assemble furniture, install fixtures, and carry out general handyman duties,

● Maintain tools, materials, and vehicle to ensure efficiency and safety.

● Communicate with property management and operations teams to prioritise tasks.

● Record maintenance activities and outcomes using internal systems.

● Maintain a strong focus on safety, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

About the Candidate

You are practical, proactive, and take pride in your work. You already have experience in trades or maintenance and are ready to take the next step in a professional environment.

Essential skills and attributes:

● A positive, “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn.

● Basic knowledge of tools, maintenance, and repair work.

● Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

● Physically fit and capable of hands-on work.

● Own reliable vehicle and basic tools required.

● Current driver’s licence (manual preferred).

● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

● Good communication and time management skills.

● Forward thinking and able to prioritise tasks systematically.

Desirable:

● Previous experience in property maintenance, construction, or related trades.

● Basic trade qualifications (carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, or similar).

● Familiarity with short-stay or property management operations.
