The opportunity
An outstanding opportunity has opened for an early-career Financial Planner to join Roskow Independent Advisory as a key team member, as we continue our national expansion. This role provides the chance to work closely with clients on meaningful, strategy-led advice that genuinely enhances lives. It’s a responsible and fulfilling position, blending professional rigour with the independence to think critically, act ethically, and deliver with purpose. You’ll be trusted to contribute from day one. This isn’t an environment where you’re limited; it encourages curiosity and initiative. You’ll be supported by experienced advisers, paraplanners, and client-service professionals, all focused on one goal - delivering thoughtful, independent advice that makes a difference. We’re seeking someone prepared to take ownership of their work, confident in their abilities, and driven by integrity and impact. This is a hybrid Sydney-based role, offering flexibility to work mainly from home and meet clients across Sydney or in shared spaces as required.
About us
At Roskow Independent Advisory, independence isn’t a catchphrase; it’s the cornerstone of everything we do. We don’t sell products, take commissions, or answer to institutions. Clients engage us directly for transparent, strategy-first financial and wealth management advice.
We exist to help people make confident, values-aligned financial decisions that improve their quality of life. Our approach combines technical excellence with emotional intelligence. We believe great advice comes from understanding not just the numbers, but the people behind them.
Our team operates nationally with offices across Brisbane, Melbourne, and the Sunshine Coast. We’re expanding into Sydney and are seeking someone who shares our passion for independence, clarity, and authentic client connection.
We value curiosity, compassion, and competence. These are not slogans; they’re the way we work, the way we treat clients, and the way we support one another.
The role
This position will see you play a central part in managing the advice process, client experience, and delivery of strategic financial guidance to a growing client base. You’ll partner with senior advisers and work collaboratively with our national team.
Your focus will include:
• Providing strategic, client-focused financial advice in partnership with senior advisers
• Supporting financial modelling, strategy development, and documentation
• Managing and nurturing long-term client relationships built on trust and care
• Identifying opportunities, solving complex client problems, and delivering actionable outcomes
• Maintaining high ethical and compliance standards in every aspect of your work
• Contributing ideas that enhance our processes, client experience, and team collaboration
This is a role for someone who enjoys both the analytical and human sides of advice, someone who can balance detail with big-picture thinking and thrives when making a tangible difference.
About you
You’ve completed your Professional Year and already hold AR status, understanding what genuine advice involves and the responsibility it entails. Over the past few years, you’ve refined your craft, whether through advice or paraplanning, and are now ready to take ownership of your work, not just support it.
You’ve met your FASEA obligations because professionalism isn’t optional to you; it’s the baseline. You’re articulate and calm under pressure, someone clients trust because you genuinely listen. Compliance is part of your professionalism, not a burden. You navigate frameworks with confidence while maintaining the human touch that great advice demands.
Naturally proactive, you find answers before being asked, adapt quickly, think clearly, and take pride in doing things well. You’re comfortable using technology to work smarter and collaborate effectively. Above all, you care about doing meaningful work — advice that truly improves people’s lives.
Other essentials:
• Minimum of six months’ post–Professional Year experience in financial planning or wealth management
• Australian citizenship (required for this role)
• FASEA-compliant tertiary qualification
What we offer
• Genuine independence, no product quotas, sales targets, or conflicts
• Mentorship and collaboration with senior advisers and a skilled support team
• Paraplanning, compliance, and operational support
• A flexible hybrid working structure with modern digital systems
• A culture grounded in integrity, independence, and real impact
At Roskow, you’ll be part of a team that values curiosity, care, and the pursuit of excellence. We want you to grow your career in a way that feels purposeful and rewarding, because when our people thrive, so do our clients.
