We’re seeking an organised and proactive HR Officer / HR Business Partner to support our growing team. In this role, you’ll work closely with managers and staff to drive positive workplace culture, coordinate recruitment and onboarding, and provide day-to-day HR advice and support. It’s a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and building trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Purpose of the Role:
As a Human Resource Manager at GRAF Australia, you will be crucial in helping manage and oversee employee policies and procedures and help maintain a positive work environment.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual who can lead by example. You will help improve employee performance, morale and participation at work. While also helping to provide structure to the organisation through developing and implementing policies and procedures that protect employees and meet organisational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Corporate Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with organisational goals
Report directly to the Executive Board, providing data-driven insights and recommendations on workforce planning, policy, and compliance
Review and update internal structures, role design, and conduct standards to strengthen team performance and morale
Support long-term business objectives through talent development, engagement, and retention initiatives
Maintain and review HR systems, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and efficiency
Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-aligned workplace culture
Oversee adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Employee Management:
Handling workplace investigations, disciplinary, and termination procedures.
Maintain employee benefit and compensation programs
Assess training needs
Conducting performance and wage reviews
Manage all company-sponsored visa applications in collaboration with the appointed immigration agent — from initial consultation to final grant
Liaise between employees, managers, and the agent to ensure documentation and timelines are met
Maintain detailed visa records and correspondence in line with legal and company standards
Provide the Executive Board with regular reports on visa activities, risk exposure, and workforce mobility planning
Coordinate and support the administration of the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) — liaising with unions, employees, and management to ensure compliance and understanding of entitlements
Partner with department heads to interpret and apply EBA terms consistently across the organisation
Recruitment:
Oversee and manage the HR Coordinator through the recruitment process
Consulting with the employer and identifying employment needs
Interviewing potential applicants regarding their skills, experience and education
Booking in medicals and national police checks with future employees
Setting up the employee file on HR management software
Establish and implement orientation and training programmes to help with recruitment efforts and to get employees equipped for their duties
Ensure a smooth onboarding process
What you need:
Cert IV or higher in Human Resource Management OR 6+ years experience
Knowledge of relevant health and safety laws
Knowledge of HR systems and databases
Ability to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
Ability to follow and maintain workplace privacy
Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Nice to have:
Ability to architect a strategy, along with leadership skills
Ability to give presentations
Experience dealing with and & implementing an EBA
People-oriented and results-driven
